St. Vincent “Bring Me Your Mugs”
We aren’t surprised when we see that musicians brand themselves with alcohol. ZZ Top and Sammy Hagar have Tequilla. Jay-Z has his cognac and of course Willie Nelson has his Whiskey River to name but a few.
The new go-to product for musicians now seems to be coffee.
St. Vincent is a big coffee fan. So much so that has has teamed up with Intellgentsia to create her “Bring Me Your Mugs” based off her “Bring Me Your Loves” song from her brilliant new album.
“I love coffee. I sometimes get excited at night thinking of the coffee I’ll get to drink in the morning. Coffee is reason to wake up. There are other reasons, of course. But coffee is the incentive, at the very least. I love Intelligentsia coffee. I have stood at their counter waiting for my order, like a fan waiting for a show. Eager. Expectant. So when my favorite coffee shop approached me about collaborating on a signature coffee, I was thrilled.”
She sounds like a coffee junkie to me. The coffee is called Flecha Roja and described as vibrant and sugary… marked by flavors of poached pear, rosewater, and yellow plum.
Cost: $18 for 12oz. or for those true junkies $102 for 5 lbs.
St. Vincent isn’t the only coffee junkie. Here are a few more musicians creating their own magic beans.
