I’m probably ten years behind the curve but I’ve decided to start a blog.
“Let’s Not Get Carried Away” seems like an apropos title. It’s a Wilco song and probably sums up best what I’ll try to do with this site (plus it’s got a nice little drum fill near the end). Although I am in no way, shape or form a musician I do love the ones that can write about the experience of being a grownup and yet still rock.
I hope to turn on similar minded adults to interesting music that’s out there or to remind you of things past that I loved and think are still very cool.
I have two daughters age 16 and 11 and I think we’re getting to a point where I can find things that we can musically agree on and I will pass these discoveries on to you.
I’m not going to overdo it with the suggestions but I will suggest things that get me excited. I still believe in the power of an artist that can create their vision in a full length record or can captivate me in a performance so I’ll probably only recommend artists that can accomplish these very difficult tasks.
This will be a work in progress so let’s not get carried away.
But hey, enough of my yakkin’; whaddaya say? Let’s boogie!
