Weekend in LA

If you know anything about me, you know I love music, movies and food (especially when it comes out of a truck).  You can find it all this Saturday at the Outdoor Cinema Food Fest.

They will be screening There’s Something About Mary.  Here’s Jonathan Richman singing the theme song

If you love the beach and tribute bands then have I got the place for you.  It’s the Fiesta Hermosa in Hermosa Beach which bills itself as the largest arts & crafts fair in Southern California”.  You’ll also get the chance to hear Paperback Writer, Peace Frog, Candy-O, The Atomic Punks or close your eyes and imagine The Beatles, The Doors, The Cars and Van Halen.

If you need some jamming and reggae sounds for your Memorial Day weekend, may I recommend the 25th Annual Jazz Reggae Fest at UCLA .

The lineup is pretty impressive with Jam day on Sunday featuring Lupe Fiasco and Talib Kweli.  Monday is Reggae Day and features Steel Pulse and The Wailing Souls .

Also, if you missed your opportunity on Monday to get Lady Gaga’s new record for .99¢ you get another chance today (Thursday, May 26 only).  Click on the cover image (which looks like it was made for .99¢) to get it.
