This week in LA, a few of the women that ruled the LA music scene in the 80s and 90s are returning for shows.
Kim Shattuck played bass in the 80s Paisley Underground rock band The Pandoras but gained fame in the 90s with her power pop band, The Muffs. Friday, the band will celebrate their 25th anniversary with a show at The Echo. I can pretty much guarantee you will get to hear “Sad Tomorrow” Their 2:15 minute pop punk blast from their 1993 debut.
I’m not sure if this has ever happened before but Largo at the Coronet is pairing up Belinda Carlisle of The Go-Gos with Susanna Hoffs of The Bangles. Like Bacon and Eggs, Macaroni and Cheese or Peanut Butter and Jelly, it’s just a classic pairing of two classic performers. They play Monday and Tuesday. I’m sure Rodney Bingenheimer will be there. You should too!
