I’m still on my Bowie kick. My first show with no parents was September 9, 1983 at Anaheim Stadium. Basically it was pretty much the perfect day. David Bowie with The Go-Go’s and Madness opening up. After witnessing this show, I had a whole new perspective on pop culture. Fashion was cool. Dancing was cool. Pastels were cool (for a second). Bowie had his platinum blonde hair. I would see Madonna three years later in this same venue sporting the exact same style hair during her “Who’s That Girl” tour.
Things I still wish I had. The ticket stub:
The sleeveless shirt I bought at the show
Here’s the setlist. I remember being upset he didn’t play Ziggy Stardust. Looking back though it’s impossible to gripe about this setlist
The music video from the tour:
For those completists, here’s the Go-Go’s setlist:
The Madness setlist is not available but I’m 100% certain they played this song.
