The English blokes are back with an album they recorded across the pond in upstate New York. Their version of pop punk rock is now a little grittier, thanks to the production efforts of produced David Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Tame Impala, MGMT) and Cole MGN (Ariel Pink, Beck)
With each album Stone grows his audience with his soulful, slightly hippish version of R&B. Those that love D’Angleo would be well served to discover the talents of Allen Stone. I’d love to see this album become his true breakthrough moment.
Now 40(!!!) years into his career, Weller continues to create compelling work. With this album he explores his inner hippie. The results, as always, are intriguing, fascinating and fun. I’m willing to follow Paul wherever his muse takes him.
