NPR came out with a story earlier this year asking, “How Much Does It Cost To Make A Hit Song“. Using a 2010 song from Rihanna the number is over $1 Million (not even including the video). Well, the Rihanna machine is back for more and apparently the formula is working as she’s got a song in the top 10 again. Here’s the video for “We Found Love“.
I guess if the concept of a movie sequel works why not do it with the music album. Dr. Dre did it with The Chronic and The Chronic 2001, Meatloaf attempted it with Bat Out of Hell I and II and III, Jay-Z had a more successful run with The Blueprint Trilogy 1, 2 and 3 and now Mary J. Blige comes out with My Life II which revisits her 1994 album.
Lastly comes, Nickelback. Currently sitting at
48,000, 55,000 signatures regarding their Thanksgiving halftime performance at the Detroit Lions game. I predict this album debuts at #2 (behind Rihanna, of course) with 250,000 sold.
