We know The Beatles and Bob Dylan have old/new music today and once again and everyone is writing and talking about it and we’re going to go out and get them because “hey”, it’s still The Beatles and Dylan and it’s still amazing music.
There are two new albums from artists of note but going in opposite directions.
Ellie Goulding is swinging for the fences with her new album, Delerium. She brought in superstar producer Max Martin and Discloure’s Guy Lawrence and the proof as they say is in the pudding. This year she’s had 2 top ten hits “Love Me Like You Do” from Fifty Shades of Grey and on Delerium and the current hit “On My Mind”. These are her first US hits since 2011 with “Lights”. She’s doing the Radio Christmas show circuit in December and then look for a full-fledged arena tour in 2016. Expect to hear a lot of Ellie in the new year.
Remember when Seal dominated the charts in the 90s and then seemingly disappeared. Want to feel old? His last top ten hit in the US was his cover of the song “Fly Like An Eagle” from the 1997 film “Space Jam”. He’s still been releasing new music but to a dispassionate audience. He’s still a strong performer but the music is moving more towards being your mom’s favorite artist rather than someone that is taking chances and moving their career forward. Here’s the first single “Every Time I’m With You”
