New Music Friday

Fall is traditionally the time when veteran artists come out of hiding in anticipation for the Christmas season.  Yes, it’s two days into the Fall and already I’m mentioning Christmas.

Here are the three projects that you might want to get for the holiday season.

For The Grandparents:

Don Henley– The Grandparents go to every Eagles show and probably know the setlist by heart now. It’s time to learn some new songs and prepare to sing along  during Henley’s upcoming solo tour. Extra bonus, this is a country themed record including duets with Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, Martina McBride and country superstar Mick Jagger.

For Mom & Dad:

New Order –  They’re always talking about how awesome the 80s were and actually they were if New Order was a part of it. Well the Manchester boys are back with their first album in 10 years.  Even though founding member Peter Hook isn’t in the band, Bernard Sumner is still pulling the strings and it will hearing these songs will guarantee to put a smile on your New-Wave loving parents faces

For your nephew & nieces

The Dead Weather – You love Jack White and all he does. You try to let your younger relatives know how relevent you are by always talking about how amazing The White Stripes/Raconteurs/Jack White is…I think I’m actually talking about myself here. Jack continues to surprise and delight me. He found a great partner with Alison Mosshart on vocals. It’s good to have this band back after a 5 year hiatus. So here’s your chance to once again prove rock isn’t dead with The Dead Weather’s 3rd album. Rock on!!
