I read David Browne’s Fire and Rain: The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, James Taylor, CSNY, and the Lost Story of 1970 so I felt it was kind of mandatory to read the sequel (in a sense) David Hepworth’s “Never a Dull Moment: 1971 The Year That Rock Exploded“. While I preferred the focus of David Browne’s book, Hepworth has a unique English perspective of the way things happened back in the day and he referenced many artists I was not too familiar with. The fun of the book is the chapters are listed by month and then at the end there is a small playlist of songs to listen to. I therefore, came up with the brilliant idea of creating a Spotify playlist which you can now enjoy at your leisure.
I guess being a David the pressure is on me to write the 1972 book.
