On October 28, Phil Collins announced that he is “no longer officially retired. The horse is out of the stable and I’m ready to go”. No matter what you may think of his music this should be viewed as good news since Phil has had a number of injuries from hip and sciatic nerve damage to his back to almost losing the hearing in his left ear. The 2007 Genesis reunion tour led to a dislocated vertebra in his neck that caused nerve damage in his hands, ultimately leaving him unable to play the drums.
But leave it to the snarky internet to turn this story into something entirely different. Just like the Nickelback debacle from exactly this time in 2011, there is an online petition on Change.org demanding the Phil Collins must be stopped. So far this has amassed 4193 supporters, far away from the 55,841 signatures Nickelback amassed trying to prevent them from performing at a Thanksgiving football game.
Nickelback played and the end of the world did not arrive. And besides, if Mike Tyson loves Phil Collins so should you.
