We all know what a horrible year this was for losing so many artists that meant so much to us.
You never know when we’re never going to see that performer ever again. With that in mind here are the three performers I saw this year that I’m glad I can say I got to see in concert.
Besides Beyoncé, there is no one performing today in 2016 that is adored as much as Adele. Her shows are a conversation between the audience and performer…literally. In between songs, Adele opens the floor up and talks about what’s on her mind, what’s on the audience’s mind or just spouts off on random topics. It’s a treat to hear someone at the peak of her vocal powers, sing her songs that means so much to so many people. Adele will continue her tour in 2017, end it in July in the UK and then I expect her to disappear from the public eye for a long, long time. I’m glad I got to see her in 2016
Although they deserve to be in the Rock Hall. I doubt they’ll ever get in but they are the true innovators and to see these four men stand in front of their computers and play their music to 3-D images at the Hollywood Bowl was one for the ages. They are still touring but currently do not have plans to come back to the U.S. I’m so happy I got to see the robots play.
It was a last second decision to go to this show and I’m so glad I did. Sure, she reads off a teleprompter, her voice is a little shaky at times and nothing was left to risk but there is no denying her extraordinary talents and to be in the same room with her was pure joy. To hear her sing “People” practically brought me to tears. It was a good choice to finally cross her name of my bucket list of performers.
